Croydon Reverend Anne Rusbridge and five of her colleagues show that despite spring being upon us, it is not time to put thoughts of insulating unfilled lofts or cavities away with our winter woollies.
All of them have had their lofts insulated as part of a joint scheme by Croydon Council and Creative Environmental Networks, which encourages homeowners in the borough to save 20 per cent of the energy they use.
With the average household producing approximately six tonnes of carbon dioxide every year, filling unfilled cavities or lofts would dramatically reduce this and at a fraction of the price of installing a solar panel or wind turbine.
