Croydon Schools Football Association will be hoping for a victory in their London Schools U16 Hawke Trophy Final against Havering Schools tomorrow (Thursday) to add to the trophies on display at their annual presentation evening at Archbishop Tenison School this Friday.
Royal Russell emerged as 3-2 winners over Woodcote Junior School, Coulsdon, in a closely-contested U11 league championship semi-final at Royal Russell last week. Two goals from Ben Flint and an own goal made up Royal Russell's tally, while Ollie Thornton was twice on target for Woodcote.
In the other semi-final, Beulah Junior Mixed School, Thornton Heath, won 3-0 against Ridgeway Primary School, South Croydon. Jerome Williams was on target twice, while Beulah's other scorer was Alex Rose.
Fifty schools have battled it out since September in eight seven-a-side leagues, with winners going forward to quarter- final matches and then the semi finals.
The final is due to take place at Royal Russell School on Monday, May 15, at 4.15pm.
