A man was stabbed to death at a house in Cheam Road, Sutton, this morning.

Murder squad detectives are investigating the fatal stabbing after a 49-year-old was found with knife wounds to the leg and arm and later died.

London Ambulance Service were called at 4.22 on Tuesday, May 4, to reports of a seriously injured man at an address near Gander Green Lane, in Cheam Road, Sutton.

Police said they believe they know the identity of the deceased but await formal identification. Next of kin are yet to be informed.

One man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been taken to a south London police station, where he remains in custody.
