A debt counselling centre has opened on the Winstanley Estate in Battersea, offering to “bring hope to those trapped by debt”.
Christians Against Poverty (CAP), a national debt counselling service, opened the centre in partnership with St Peter's Church.
Matt Brown, UK chief executive officer of CAP, said: “We aim to bring hope and a free, practical solution to the problem of debt, whilst helping individuals through the often traumatic consequences, which can include divorce, going hungry and even attempted suicide.”
