A parliamentary candidate for Streatham will be appearing on a televised debate this evening targeting first-time voters.

Chuka Umunna, Labour's candidate, is appearing in a unique edition of the popular BBC political show Question Time.

The studio audience, who will pose all the questions in the debate, will be made up entirely of young people voting for the first time in tomorrow's general election.

Among those appearing alongside Mr Umunna on the panel are comedian Marcus Brigstocke and TV presenter Miquita Oliver. The debate will be chaired by X-Factor presenter Dermot O'Leary.

Mr Umunna said: "Streatham is one of the youngest parliamentary constituencies in the country.

"First-time voters will play a crucial role in deciding who wins this election and determining the future direction of the country."

The programme will be broadcast on BBC3 at 8pm.
