A mortgage broker who failed to pay up more than £1,300 in fees to the financial watchdog has been struck off.

Stephen Frank Ellison has been barred from carrying out regulated activities by the Financial Services Authority(FSA) after repeatedly neglecting to reply to a payment notice served on him by the body within 28 days.

Mr Ellison, from Forestdale, was told he had not been conducting his business soundly and prudently and in compliance with proper standards.

Decision notices about the non-payment went out to Surrey Mortgages from the FSA on March 24.

The FSA final warning said: “This failing, which is significant in the context of your suitability, leads the FSA to conclude that you are not conducting your business soundly and prudently and in compliance with proper standards and that you are not a fit and proper person.”
