Police are searching for a 14-year-old girl who has been missing for six weeks.

Concern is growing for the welfare of Nakeama Walsh who was last seen at her home address in Upper Norwood 8.30pm on May 10.

It is believed that Nakeama may be in the Croydon area, although she does have family links in Leicester.

Police said they are not linking her disappearance to a series of attempted abductions in the borough.

Nakeama is described as a light-skinned black girl between 5' and 5'4''tall with a medium build, brown eyes and black hair.

She was last seen wearing a pale green Adidas jacket, dark jeans and purple plimsolls.

PC Lorraine Warnes, of Croydon police's Missing Persons Unit, said: "We are very concerned for Nakeama. It is very unusual for her to go missing and her family desperately want to know that she is safe and well.

"I would urge anyone with information to contact police as soon possible."

Anyone with information or who knows where Nakeama is should call Croydon police on 0300 123 1212 or the charity Missing People on 0500 700 700.
