The first NHS- funded Baby Café has been launched in Coulsdon to support pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
The café was opened last Friday at Byron Children’s Centre in Coulsdon by the Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Avril Slipper.
The Baby Café team works in partnership with maternity services at Mayday University Hospital, Croydon Council and local voluntary agencies as a way to make more people aware about the benefits of breastfeeding, and to support new and expecting mothers.
Sharon Jones, director of operations for Croydon Community Health Services said: “I would encourage new and expecting mother to come along to give the Baby Café, to share experiences and get expert advice, which will help give them the confidence to breastfeed.”
