Did you know Ghanaian drugs mule?

Police are appealing to the Ghanaian community in Croydon to help identify a drugs mule who died after she swallowed more than 60 packages of what was thought to be cocaine.

The woman was not carrying any form of identification and her jewellery had been removed when she was treated at St Helier Hospital in Carshalton on May 29.

She was taken into the hospital by a porter who had been alerted that the woman was close by and appeared to be in excruciating pain. She told doctors she had flown in from Ghana to Heathrow earlier that morning and that her name was Mary Kofi.

She was wearing a distinctive red print dress and silver shoes. She had wavy black hair that appeared to have extensions with slight tints of red.

The woman was believed to have been in her late 40s. Police are keen to speak to anyone who knew her or saw her in Wrythe Lane between Welbeck Road and Robertsbridge Road in Sutton at about 1pm on Bank Holiday Monday, May 29.

Call Det Con Suzanne Bainbridge on 020 8649 0731 or Crimestoppers on 0800555111.
