A proposed new transport plan for the borough could deliver multi-million pound improvements to its travel network, according to town hall bosses.

Wandsworth Council is inviting residents to have their say about its transport objectives, targets and potential transport improvements up to 2014.

The authority believes its Local Implementation Plan - currently funded to the tune of £3.7m by the Mayor of London - could lead to investment of around £10m in Wandsworth’s transport facilities by 2014.

It proposes a raft of improvements to the borough’s road network and transport interchanges, particularly major transport improvement programmes in Clapham Junction town centre and at Earlsfield station.

It also details spending on road safety and cycle training and additional support for the borough’s car club drive.

Residents are now being invited to submit their views on the council’s transport vision.
