Residents concerned about a mobile phone mast due to be erected near a pre-school are being given the chance to quiz representatives from O2 and Vodafone about the plans.
The plan to erect a six-antenna mast near the junction of Boulogne Road and Whitehorse Road, Thornton Heath, was approved by Croydon Council despite protests by nearby Once Upon A Time pre-school.
Green campaigner Shasha Khan, who led a campaign in September to have the mast sited elsewhere, has now arranged for the mobile phone operators to hold a public meeting to answer residents’ concerns.
The meeting will be held at Whitehorse Youth Centre, Whitehorse Road on January 25, and begins at 7pm.
Mr Khan said: “Please come and find out more. It’s important we do not allow them to take us for granted.”
