Property marker giveaway to reduce burglaries
Property markers will be given away on a first come, first serve basis in a bid to reduce burglaries in the borough.
Elmbridge Council and Surrey Police are working together to hand out 75 kits at the Heart Centre, in Walton, on February 5.
The kits include a unique gel which goes on all items in the home and allows any items recovered from a break-in to be traced back to the owners.
A similar scheme recently reduced burglary by 50 per cent.
The giveaway starts at 10.30am and will run alongside mobile phone marking for any shoppers in town.
