Six men have been found guilty of gunning down a 22-year-old man hours after he had celebrated his birthday.

Ezra Mills, 22, was shot in the chest with a pump-action shotgun on March 21, at the Central Hill estate, in West Norwood.

Mr Mills, who grew up in Croydon, studied at Carshalton College and worked as a builder, was not involved with any gangs.

The jury, formed of 10 men and two women, found Marcell Mason, 20, of Alexandra Drive, Gipsy Hill, Travelle Williams, 18, of Charters Close, Gispy Hill, Dwayne Lock, 20, of Wychwood Way, Gipsy Hill, David Smith, 22, of Fingate Road, Streatham, Robert Saint, 20, from Camberwell, and a 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, guilty of murder.

Saint, Williams, Mason and the unnamed teenager were all found guilty of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Williams and the unnamed teenager were found guilty of a robbery on January 3 last year.

Smith, Williams, Mason and the unnamed teenager were found not guilty of an attempted robbery on March 21.

All six men will be sentenced tomorrow at 10am at the Old Bailey.
