Supermodel Kate Moss made a dramatic return to the borough recently by recording an opulent fashion advert at the former haunt of Henry VIII.

The 37-year-old took over parts of Addington Palace to film the sexy shoot for Argentinian clothing company Basement, which sees her strip to her undies in one of the building’s ornate rooms.

Miss Moss’ latest trip to Croydon comes just two months after she bemoaned the borough as “rough” in an interview with Stylist magazine.

But her time at the luxury hotel is a far cry from her childhood spent living in Addiscombe and rifling through Croydon’s charity shops for vintage clothes.

The advert shows a grumpy Moss dumping a bunch of flowers in the hotel lobby before sulking in her room, until a hunky room service attendant turns up with some of the company’s wares.

A rejuvenated Moss then struts back to the foyer in her new frock, spurning her now present beau in favour of the hotel worker.

The Palace is no stranger to celebrity, with Henry VIII courting Anne Boleyn on the site at his hunting lodge before it became the home of six Archbishops of Canterbury.

Prince Phillip and the current Monarch visited in 2002, although they showed more reserve than the supermodel by keeping their clothes on.
