Flags and bunting will line Old London Road to celebrate St George’s Day next week.

Kingston First has planned a day of festivities, including market stalls, a wandering George and the Dragon, a treasure hunt and fairground rides.

An opera singer from the London College of Music, Articulate jazz band and dance classes from Jumping Jive will provide musical entertainment.

Open days will be held at Shiva Health and Kingston’s working gentleman’s club, who will be offering a hog roast.

Mark Field, chairman of the Old London Road Traders Association, thanked traders for their continued support following their efforts in supplying over 3,000 eco friendly bags during March for the Paint the Town Green Festival.

The Mayor of Kingston, Councillor Chrissie Hitchcock, will officially open the event on April 23 at 12.

Activities and stalls will run from 11am to 4pm.
