A daughter was devastated when flowers she organised for her father’s funeral were delivered late.

Pauline Foster, from Hackbridge, ordered a floral display to be placed on her father Ernest Bradley’s coffin for his funeral at North East Surrey Crematorium last month.

But Conservatory Flowers in Worcester Park did not deliver them to funeral directors at the correct time, meaning they had to rush them to the crematorium, but arrived late.

Mrs Foster said the flowers were left outside.

They were no flowers at the funeral, because the family requested donations instead be made to North Cheam-based cancer charity St Raphael’s Hospice, which cared for her father before he died.

Ms Foster said: “It was upsetting and I want to make sure this never happens to anyone again.”

The florists claim it was given the wrong delivery time by the funeral directors, which Co-operative Funeralcare deny.

A spokesman for Co-operative Funeralcare said it was the florists responsibility to ensure it provided what was requested by its client.

Conservatory Flowers manager Dana Lamb, apologised but said it had done its best, but had been given misinformation by Co-operative Funeralcare.

She said it was the first time it had happened to the florists, which regularly provided flowers for funerals.
