An international freestyle footballer brought his football juggling skills to Kingston town centre on Wednesday ahead of attempting the London marathon on Saturday.
Man United fan John Farnworth was employing his techniques to help raise money for a charity helping with life skills and HIV testing for orphans in South Africa.
He expects to take six hours to complete the marathon juggling the football as he goes trying to add to the four Guiness records he already holds.
He said: “I really wanted to do a challenge that would push me to the max, raise money for the charity and maybe break a world record too.”
Kick4Life has won the backing of England football manager Fabio Capello. He said: “What Kick4Life are doing in Lesotho is fantastic. We must encourage and support this project.”
