A 45-year-old man has been charged by police after a £50,000 haul of crack cocaine was found in a car this morning.
Police also turned up half a kilo of cannabis during the raid on the home of Hoaard Gonzalez-Scarlett in Cromer Road, South Norwood.
He appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court today charged with possession of class A and class B drugs with intent to supply.
The cocaine was discovered underneath the back seat of a car parked at a home in Thornton Heath.
A search at a second address revealed approximately £2,000 in cash as well as items suspected of being used in drug trafficking.
Mr Gonzalez-Scarlett was arrested by detectives from the Metropolitan Police Service's Middle Market Team, with the help of Croydon police.
Detective Inspector Steve Miles said: "With the assistance of our borough colleagues we have successfully recovered of a significant amount of drugs, no doubt destined for the streets of London."
