One of the biggest music competitions in London is about to get a taste of "Africa" in the next round of Live and Unsigned 2011.

Robin Lewis (a.k.a. Twig), originally from South Africa but now living in Putney, has made his way through to the semi-finals of the largest national music competition for unsigned original musicians and bands. In the previous show he wowed judges with positive lyrics and an energetic performance, bringing a refreshing angle to rap music.

Twig has been in the music industry for just over 10 years and moved to the UK 2 years ago to follow his dream.

"I'll always be a South African and proud of it. This is my journey to bring that spirit to the rest of the world."

If he makes it through to the next round he will be competing at the O2Indigo to be crowned the 2011 Live and Unsigned champion. That and a record deal.

"Winning this competition would be a huge step for me, giving me a real opportunity to get my music off the ground".

Twig will be performing at the Beck Theatre, Hayes in London on Sunday the 15th of May just after 8pm.
