Celebrity comedian Russell Brand was eggs-static when he was presented with a custom-made giant easter egg on TV made by award-winning Croydon chocolatier Paul Wayne Gregory .
The Easter egg, which had his face painted on the front, was specially commissioned by The One Show for the celebrity who appeared on BBC programme on Saturday to promote his new film Arthur.
The film star asked if it was edible before saying: “I think it’s sort of wonderful, it is magical to see myself rendered in this egg fashion. I like it.”
An exhausted Mr Gregory said the special egg was one of hundreds he created in the run up to Easter. The chocolatier worked past midnight most of last week to get the special orders finished in time for the long weekend.
He said: “The One Show asked us to create an egg with Russell Brand’s face on the front, it is the display egg we have made for a celebrity.”
