Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a distraction burglary at a 93-year-old lady’s home in Ashtead.
The burglary happened on Sunday, May 15, in Taleworth Road between 2.45pm and 2.55pm when a man and woman conned the pensioner into believing the woman, who was pregnant, needed a glass of water because she felt faint.
After they left the pensioner noticed her handbag containing her purse and a number of cards was missing, believed to have been taken while she was getting the glass of water.
A 19-year-old man from Redhill and a 19-year-old woman from Godalming were arrested on June 2 and have been released on police bail until July 18.
Anyone with information should call DC Simon Evans at Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222.
