A 20-year-old woman was rushed to hospital with neck injuries after a car crash on Putney Bridge in the early hours of this morning.

The accident happened at about 3am when a Renault hit the central reservation on the bridge.

Ambulance and fire services from three stations were called to the scene.

A spokesman from the Green Watch at Wandsworth fire station said: "The car flicked over onto its roof and one person involved, a woman believed to be 20-years-old, was taken to hospital suffering from neck injuries.

"She got out of the car before we got there and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.

"We did not have to close the road and were able to make the scene safe fairly quickly."
