An Epsom family has overcome stiff competition to reach the final ten of a national competition to find Britain's most adventurous family.

The competition, hosted by Chessington World of Adventures and judged by celebrity adventurer Alison Hammond, is looking for fearless, adventurous families who live life to the full and dare to try new activities.

Alison believes that the Aldridges, made up of dad Peter, 47, mum Sharon, 45, and children, Erin, 12, Joel, 11, and Louis and Shannon, both 8, definitely fit the bill.

She said, "The Aldridges really deserve to be shortlisted as they certainly know how to make the most out of life and are always on the look-out for new challenges and experiences that they can share, which is what having a sense of adventure is all about."

Dad Peter submitted a video of the family showcasing their sense of adventure, wowing the judging panel.

He said, "We're delighted to be in the running to become Britain's Most Adventurous Family and can't wait to hear if we've made it through to the final!"

"The girls love horse riding and hacking around the Surrey countryside."

"Even in the winter we enjoy the beach for a dip in the sea, crabbing and exploring."

"We have tried white water rafting and thought it was brilliant."

If successful, the Aldridge family will be one of the three finalist families to attend a bootcamp day at Chessington World of Adventures, and will have to battle it out through a range of exciting, thrilling and downright adventurous 'Chessington Challenges'.

The winning family will be crowned on the day by Alison and will receive an amazing fifteen-day family adventure holiday to Turkey.

Alison continued, "I would like to wish the Aldridges lots and lots of luck and remind them that life's one big adventure."

"Stay wild!"
