Surrey Police have released mug shots of the county’s most wanted burglars in an effort to target prolific criminals. Members of the public are being asked for their help to trace burglars to get them off the streets of Surrey and bring them to justice.

The Surrey police website will, for the first time, feature a ‘most wanted’ section where the photographs of all those targeted will be displayed.

Detective chief inspector Derrick Laing, head of the proactive investigation team, said: “Surrey Police is committed to relentlessly targeting offenders responsible for burglary and these outstanding prolific offenders are at the top of our list.

“Most Wanted has proved itself to be a powerful tool in helping to identify, locate and arrest offenders elsewhere and we hope that this initiative will be just as successful.

“Having your property broken into can have a devastating effect on victims who may be left feeling vulnerable and frightened in their own homes and we are determined that those causing this misery will be caught and dealt with.

“We urge people to look closely at these faces and if you know where they are or have seen them please contact us.

“We will act on any information we receive but if you would rather not speak to us directly then you can contact Crimestoppers and give any details you may have anonymously.”
