A woman whose sister is a police officer and mother is a 999 call handler, has been charged with looting during last week's riots.

Laura Foley appeared in court charged with stealing a television from Argos, Church Street, Croydon last Monday.

Her sister Lisa, 28, is a Metropolitan Police constable who works from Deptford police station and their mother Michelle answers 999 calls.

Laura Foley was arrested on Friday and appeared in Croydon magistrates' court on Saturday, charged with one count of burglary.

The 22-year-old did not enter a plea and was released on bail.

Conditions of her bail include wearing an electronic tag and adhering to a curfew, meaning she must be at home between 9pm and 7am.

Her bail address is listed as the White Horse pub in Selhurst Road, which is run by her father Danny.

Yesterday, he told The Telegraph: "There is a police investigation so I'm not saying anything. But if you mention my other daughter there will be hell to pay."

Lisa Foley refused to comment on her sister when she was approached at her home in Maidstone, Kent.

Laura Foley describes how she loves "partying with my mates and with my family," on a social networking site.

She adds: "I know what I want in life and I know how to get it, when I want something I set my mind to it and reach all my goals."

Laura Foley will next appear at Camberwell magistrates court September 9.
