Julian Speroni: He made a mistake but you can’t stay angry at him for long can you? He’s saved Palace so many times in the last few years he is allowed one off moment, foul or no foul. Plenty of other keepers would have crumbled after that but he stood strong and made vital saves to keep Palace in the game. 7

Peter Ramage: Got forward a lot more down the right and his celebration in front of me when the winning goal went in showed that although he is only at Selhurst Park for a month, he still cares about the result. He was rarely troubled defensively. 8

Paddy McCarthy: Showed his leadership qualities by pushing Palace on once they went behind and many moves began with him at the back. Tried to spray the ball around to the wings as well, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. 8

Aleksander Tunchev: Another impressive display from the on-loan Bulgarian. Leicester fans have been saying he is the best centre back in the league and I can’t argue with them right now. His positioning is spot on and if Palace can extend his time in south London, he will give Gardner a run for his money for that spot alongside McCarthy. 8

Ryan McGivern: Defensively, he was very sound again and has a lovely left-foot. He was perhaps a little unlucky to be taken off as he seems one of the best crossers of the ball Palace have. 8

David Wright: Did his job as the midfield anchor very well and was constantly in the way when Coventry threatened to break through midfield. He barely put a foot wrong and it was no coincidence that Coventry had one of their better spells just after he had gone off. 9

Owen Garvan: Another Palace player with a beautiful left foot. He was inspirational in the middle of the park again and played some superb balls. He had to hobble around the pitch for the last 20 minutes after pulling up with a hamstring problem but shrugged it off and manfully carried on going. 9

Kagisho Dikgacoi: Playing in a slightly unaccustomed right wing role he buzzed about but was a little unsure what he was doing. Looks like he will be out for a month having collapsed off the ball with a hamstring problem in the first half. 6

Jonathan Parr: He was quieter than on Saturday but still gave Palace a great deal of energy down the left flank. A bit shaky once he moved to left back but he continues to gain admirers. 7

Sean Scannell: Fantastic finish for his goal, reminiscent of that Di Canio strike from years ago and just shows the confidence oozing out of him at the minute. He gave Coventry all sorts of problems, coming short for the ball or running in behind for it. He is a handful. 9

Jermaine Easter: He may have struggled to get a look in for most of the game but plugged away and, like all good strikers, found himself in the right place at the right time to win the game for Palace. Shades of the Clinton Morrison about that really. 8

Subs:

Wilfried Zaha (Dikgacoi, 40): I very rarely give full marks to a player but the 18-year-old deserves it from Tuesday. He was into the action straight away when he came on and Coventry couldn’t deal with him. Set up the two goals and his smile at the final whistle was a delight to see. 10

Mile Jedinak (Wright, 59): Brought on for his debut and he looked a little off the pace if truth to be told. But it was his first appearance in English football and he will get better, Freedman has high hopes for him. 6

Jon Williams (McGivern, 68): The latest star to emerge from the Eagles’ academy looks like a great player. He showed no fear and had a major role in the equaliser. Made a mistake just after he came on but did not let it define him and put in a display that has a lot of people very excited. 9
