A group is having a ball for Bowel Cancer UK.

After losing her father to the disease in 2007, Amaka Ogeah from Sutton, is organising the Sapphire Ball to support the charity.

The investment banker will be attempting to raise awareness of the disease among ethnic minority communities.

The Sapphire Ball will be at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel and Conference Centre, Kensington, on August 28, from 6.30pm, with a luxury three-course meal and drink included. Tickets cost £75 before August 14 or £80 afterwards.

Entertainment will be provided by Sky's 'Got to Dance' Trilogy Street Dance Crew, live music from a professional cellist, a sitar and tabla performance , Indian Kathak dance and upcoming artist OkobiO as well as a charity auction and speeches.

There will be an African photography exhibition and a photography booth available.
