A career criminal who was sentenced to life then released on licence is wanted by police.

Nicholas Edwards, from West Wickham, was released from prison on a life licence on July 28, more than seven years after he was jailed for an armed robbery in Purley.

Edwards had his parole licence revoked in August because he has not registered with his probation officer.

The 49-year-old, who is also known as Nicholas Brown, was jailed for life at Croydon Crown Court on April 2, 2004, after pleading guilty to robbery and having a firearm with intent.

He used a handgun to threaten staff and stole £60 from a Tesco Express store in Purley in November 2003.

Edwards has 22 convictions covering 75 previous offences dating back to 1975.
