By Derek Raymond, Beverley Way

In reply to Mister Nigel Davies comments on the 265 bus route I would have some advice for him.

If you do not know what you are talking about then keep your mouth shut.

Beverley Way is not a slip road it is a service road. A slip road is a short road connecting a motorway to another road.

Beverley Way is not referred to as being on the Western or Eastern side of the by pass. It is on the North bound or the South bound carriageway of the A3.

Furthermore Beverley Way is not in Raynes Park, it is in either Putney or West Wimbledon. This issue does not concern the residents of Raynes Park, it concerns Beverley Way.

Could it be that you are just a busybody?

The service road on the Southbound carriageway IS too narrow. An accident occurred on 08/08/11 in the service road of the Nothbound carriageway involving a bus and a dust cart which collided whilst trying to pass each other resulting in the bus driver being taken to hospital.

Try telling the bus driver there is plenty of room. There is already a bus stop at either end of Beverley Way and a tape recording has been handed to TfL which clearly shows that of the 48 buses only 15 stopped allowing only one passenger to enter or leave each of the buses.

The remaining 15 buses that did stop did so without any interference what so ever to other road users of the A3.

The re-siting of the bus stops will only amount to a matter of yards and the cost to the economy will be considerable and will achieve nothing but confusion and danger, where the bus is required to cross both lanes of the approach road where morning and evening traffic is usually at a standstill.

Nigel Davies claims that omnibuses are for everyone. Does that mean we are all going to get one each, or is that just another example of his claptrap?

Letter writing based on fact is clearly not his forte. Maybe time to try train spotting. Careful not to get the numbers mixed up.
