A taskforce looking into of the London riots will see what lessons can be learned from the violence in Sutton.
The taskforce, set up by the prime minister, will investigate how the borough avoided the widespread troubles seen in neighbouring Croydon.
Led by Jobcentre Plus chief executive Darra Singh, the team will look at how the role the Safer Sutton Partnership, the umbrella organisation involving a number of organsiations including the police and council, could have played a role in averting major disorder.
Police used the council's CCTV system to manage their response to the violence.
Coun Jayne McCoy, said: "Hopefully our track record of partnership working and community engagement could offer the way forward for other areas which were blighted by the riots."
"We are not complacent but we believe the way everyone pulls together in Sutton could be the template for the other cities and boroughs - and I am delighted that the panel are coming to visit."
The panel will deliver its early findings in November before presenting a final report in March next year.
