At Carshalton College we offer a variety of BTEC Sport and Public Services Diplomas to learners aged 16 years and above.

Our Full-Time Courses cover all aspects of leisure, leadership skills and sport and exercise science.

With the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games approaching, the College is looking at ways to work with the local community in the build up to this historic event. The role of volunteers is an important element of the games to help organise and manage the individual events and welcome visitors.

Volunteering is a core part of the sport courses at Carshalton College and in 2010 students took part in over 1,000 hours of volunteering, officiating at the Boccia Finals, helping at events such as the Paralympics Festival and leading Multi Skill activities for local primary schools in Sutton.

Volunteering in sport is an excellent way for students to develop a host of skills, competencies and experiences for their future career. With so many young people attending College or University, volunteering is a great way to stand out from the crowd in the job market and why we encourage students to get involved.

Please keep Carshalton College and our students in mind if your club needs extra help or has opportunities for volunteers. The majority of the students will need to complete 10 hours of volunteering to achieve their Sports Leadership qualification and giving them an opportunity to do so at your organisation will benefit all involved.

Our students are enthusiastic, reliable and motivated to assist with - Coaching roles - Officiating - Club administration - Events - Marshalling If you would like more details, please contact our Sport Team Leader, Jez Gray, on 020 8544 4427 or via email at jez.gray@carshalton.ac.uk.
