Staff and residents of two care homes in Battersea and Clapham have their binoculars at the ready in preparation for a wildlife week.
Collingwood Court Nursing Centre in Clapham has invited members of the local community to lend a hand in the gardens and help spot any new wildlife visiting the home during Bupa’s Wildlife Week, which runs from September 26 to October 2.
Meanwhile, Meadbank Nursing Centre in Battersea is organising wildlife activities for visitors, staff and residents throughout the week-long RSPB-backed initiative, which aims to encourage more wildlife into care home grounds and gardens.
Veronica Lee, Clapham care home manager, said: "Wildlife Week has been designed to ensure everyone can get involved, whether it’s observing birds on window feeders from the comfort of their armchairs or planting new flowers to attract the butterflies and bees."
