Ex-offenders who helped clear up the riverside have been thanked by the community.
They were clearing rubbish along Molesey’s towpath as part of a community payback group.
Paul Gossage said: “I was particularly struck by one of the group - a girl - who said that it isn't just that the litter is unsightly, but it can also be dangerous for wildlife. What a kind thought.
“They have done a great job and it is very much appreciated.”
Community payback schemes involve unpaid work that will benefit the community and forces offenders to literally pay people back for their crimes.
