Two sisters are preparing to cycling from London to Wales to raise money for a friend who has terminal cancer.

Roz Wilson 31, a marketing manager, and Alice Wilson, 24, an events producer, who live together in Tooting, are fundraising for their friend, a researcher, who is looking for new treatments to beat off cancer which has returned after three years.

The 33-year-old is receiving treatment through charity Starthrowers, which supports patients who refuse to accept nothing more can be done.

The pair plan to cycle 200 miles over four days to raise money for the charity.

They are due to set off from Tooting on October 8 and hope to arrive in Fishguard, Wales, by October 11, passing through Reading, Bristol and Swansea.

They have raised £1,500 so far.

Miss Wilson said: "We are not naturally that sporty, so it should be quite a challenge.

"We have been training for two months. We have cycled to Brighton, Reading and Oxford."
