Streatham-born supermodel Naomi Campbell has returned to her roots as part of a new documentary about her life.

In the 30-minute programme for satellite channel CNBC, the 41-year-old star speaks candidly about her five-year battle with cocaine and her various arrests for assault.

She also visits the home where she grew up in Streatham and speaks about how her early years there affected her as an adult.

Ms Campbell, who was scouted by the Synchro model agency aged 15, was raised by her mother, the Jamaican-born dancer Valerie Morris.

She has never met her father after he abandoned her mother when she was just four months pregnant.

The show features an interview with music producer Quincy Jones, a father figure for Campbell, who calls him Poppy.

Mr Jones said: "For a long time I was trying to get to the bottom of what was bothering her. Just recently I said, 'What is really wrong?' She said, 'Poppy, abandonment' ... a girl has to have that relationship with her father."

CNBC Meets Naomi Campbell is on CNBC on Wednesday, September 28 at 10pm.
