Seven talented policeman will travel to Holland next month to take part in the world's biggest police football tournament.
The team, drawn from Sutton's Safer Neighbourhood Teams, SaferParks and Safer Transport Teams are called "Inter Sutton" and are taking part to raise money for Help for Heroes.
The five-day indoor tournament, which starts on October 10, is expected to attract around 3,000 officers from more than 50 countries, including teams from Europe, Australia, Africa, Asaia, and North and South America.
The matches will be played in groups before the most successful teams enter a knockout stage. This is the 29th time this indoor tournament has been held.
PC Mark Towler, captain, said: βItβs about having fun playing soccer but also about having a chance to meet officers from other countries to talk about their work - and raise money for charity.β
The team, whose kit is sponsored by Belmont Hyundai, have had two warm-up matches which they won 12-4 and 8-2 with PCSO Ben Long scoring a hat-trick in one of the matches.
