A shuttle bus to help old and less mobile people go shopping is starting up.
The bus, which is free for Merton Priory Homes (MPH) residents, runs twice a week and will carry passengers from their homes to supermarkets.
At the launch of the service earlier this month, the mayor Councillor Gilli Lewis-Lavender said: “This is a fantastic service which will make life a lot easier for many of our residents.”
MPH Community Funding has contributed £125,000 to the joint project with Merton Community Transport.
The bus stops at the Beddington Lane Asda on Wednesday mornings and at Marks and Spencer and Sainsbury’s in Colliers Wood on Wednesday afternoon and Saturdays.
Spaces must be booked 48 hours in advance. To book call 020 8648 1001 or visit mct.uk.com.
