A teenager has admitted killing a man with a single punch outside a nightclub.
Charlie McBride, 19, of Brighton Road, Sutton, punched Richard Collier,of Wellington Crescent, Ramsgate, outside the Kabuki Club in Margate’s Marine Gardens at about 2am on June 25.
Mr Collier, a part-time property investment worker, was found unconscious at the scene by paramedics and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate where he died from his injuries later that day.
At Maidstone Crown court on Tuesday, September 26, McBride pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
He will be sentenced on Friday.
The court was told that he was expecting a jail sentence.
Prosecutor Denzil Pugh told Judge Philip Statman that the victims family wanted time to prepare statements to present to the court.
McBride’s counsel, Annette Henry said he knew he faced a custodial sentence and added that he understood he had to be punished and wanted to be.
