Students at St Martin’s Junior School in Epsom will be taking part in the world’s biggest coffee morning tomorrow in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The school is inviting everyone in the local community to come to the school hall tomorrow, September 30, from 3pm to 4.30pm to enjoy a cup of tea for charity.

It hopes to top last year’s total of over £800.

Mr Bob Twells, Head Teacher at St Martin’s Junior School said: "It’s not only a fantastic way to raise funds to help to enable the charity to support cancer patients and their families, but also an opportunity to encourage our pupils to understand the importance of giving both time and funds to others in need.

"We’re looking forward to welcoming friends, families and new members of the community to the school on Friday to ‘raise our mugs’ along with millions of other fundraisers across the UK."

The event is part of a national scheme with hundreds of coffee mornings taking place across the UK at the same time.
