Julian Speroni: 7 - Apart from the goal, wasn't unduly troubled by the Brighton attack as most of their later efforts flew wide.
Peter Ramage: 6 - Given a testing time by Craig Noone down the Palace right. Was substituted in the 51st minute for Parr partly as a result of being on a yellow card, courtesy of a lunge on Noone.
Patrick McCarthy: 7 - Went close with a header just before the hour mark that was cleared off the line, and looked good in defence.
Aleksandar Tunchev: 7 - Not too much to do and didn't do anything wrong. Will keep the fit-again Anthony Gardner out with his consistent peformances.
Dean Moxey: 7 - A threat down the left-wing going forward, and was solid at left-back. Booked.
David Wright: 7 - Played the defensive midfield role well, but was sacrificed for Ambrose as Palace sought more creativity going forward.
Mile Jedinak: 7 - Offered strength in midfield but his free-kicks were awful. Stopped Brighton getting a foothold in midfield.
Jonathan Williams: 9 - Looked assured and comfortable in midfield, always looking to play Murray in. Could have had a goal or two of his own.
Wilfried Zaha: 9 - Gave the watching England U21 manager Stuart Pearce plenty to think about. As well as attacking well, he also puts in a tackle high up the pitch. Booked.
Sean Scannell: 7 - A touch lost as the formation forced him out onto the left wing, but when he cut inside he offered more of a threat.
Glenn Murray: 9 - Blazed a few shots high and wide, but kept working away and got his just rewards with a goal. Had the respect to not celebrate in front of his former fans.
Subs: Jonathan Parr (Ramage, 51): 7 - Played out of position at right-back when he came on, but helped Palace get forward and set up Ambrose's goal.
Darren Ambrose (Wright, 78): 8 - A replacement for Wright, he put Palace in the lead and generally helped turn the screw on a tiring Brighton side.
Anthony Gardner (Williams, 90): 6 - Not enough time to make an impression as a 90th minute substitute for Williams but good to have him back to offer competition in the centre back berth.
Subs not used: Jermaine Easter, Lewis Price.
