A man has scaled the UK’s three highest peaks in just one day to raise funds for the deaf blind charity, Sense.

Joe Knowles, from Epsom, successfully completed the Three Peaks Challenge earlier this month climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales, in just 20 hours and 40 minutes.

Mr Knowles was part of a team of six people from Eden Brown, a recruitment agency, who completed the 40km trek climbing 2,984m up and down each mountain.

Funds raised from the challenge will go towards the company’s target to raise £10,000 to support deaf blind children and adults.

Mr Knowles said: "I’m really pleased to have completed the challenge.

"It was hard work -especially climbing Scafell Pike during the night, but well worth the effort to support deaf blind people to overcome the challenges they face on a daily basis."
