Prince William has arrived at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton after having little sleep, after being involved in two separate rescue missions overnight.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are visiting the hospital in Sutton this afternoon to open the Marsden's new specialist children's cancer treatment ward, the Oak Centre for Children and Young People.

William and Kate arrived a few minutes ago to be greeted by hundreds of flag-waving spectators, including crowds of school children clutching banners.

William's work as an RAF search and rescue helicopter pilot saw him called out on two separate search and rescue missions last night, to Snowdonia, then the Isle of Man.
