A Kingswood business has provided a big boost to a Surrey charity for the visually impaired.

The Kingswood Business Network International (BNI) group has been raising much-needed funds for the Surrey Association for Visual Impairment (SAVI) by recycling mobile phones, organising collection boxes and a hugely sucessful quiz night which raised £1,500.

BNI also lends expertise on business matters as well as saving money on many of the basic services the charity aneeds.

BNI Kingswood Chairman, Alan Norris, said: "We are delighted to be able to give something back to the community through our association with such a worthwhile cause as SAVI and look forward to a long and fruitful partnership."

SAVI is committed to working with blind and partially sighted people in Surrey and to provide services so that they may lead fuller, more independent lives.

Jason Spinney, Head of Community Services at SAVI, said, "BNI Kingswood is a fantastic group.

"They have helped us to raise and save money for our charity and they do it all with a smile.

"We have the confidence to recommend the group wholeheartedly."
