Find your new vocation at Carshalton College Carshalton College is inviting prospective learners to come to their Open Event to talk to tutors and take a tour of the College on Saturday 12 November, from 10.00am to 2.00pm at our Pulse Health & Fitness Centre.

Carshalton College has been educating people and realising students’ ambitions for more than 50 years and boasts excellent facilities that are continuously evolving to provide an outstanding vocational learning environment.

Courses On Offer The College offers a vast selection of Full-Time, Part-Time, Higher Education, Life & Work Skills and Apprenticeships courses for students of all ages and abilities. These include qualifications in art & design, accounting, digital media, games development, music technology, construction, brickwork, plastering, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, motor vehicle, health & social care, childcare, catering, hairdressing, beauty, sport, public services and IT.

Tours Tours will include the Renaissance Hair and Beauty Salons, Nightingales our In House training restaurant, Carpentry and Plumbing Workshops, Motor Vehicle Workshops and Pulse Health & Fitness Centre. Run by Pulse Fitness memberships are available for students and the general public with a swimming pool, 80 station fitness suite, sports hall and dance studios.

Advice and Guidance The Student Support Centre will be available to talk to at the Open Event. Visit the team to receive advice and guidance on finances, education & training opportunities and information on College Life with the common room, learner voice, enrichment and student union.

New Courses now available From September 2011, learners have been enrolling on new Motor Vehicle and Construction courses. A new Plastering workshop has been installed for students enrolling on the Level 1 and Level 2 Plastering Courses, aimed at 16 to 18 years and for 19 plus learners.

The College is also extending its Motor Vehicle portfolio and offering the IMI Extended Diploma in Maintenance and Repair for Road Vehicles Level 2 (Technicians). Students can enrol now on this full time course for 16 year olds looking for a career in the motor vehicle industry either in design, working as a master technician, in management or high level diagnostics. There is a gap in the market for these qualifications where graduates will have the opportunity to work for companies such as Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar.

Success Rates Carshalton College is also celebrating an outstanding 93%* success rate achieved by students on their Sport Courses who graduated in July 2011.

Not only is this one of the highest pass rates nationally but 75% of the graduates will be starting a degree at University this September, progressing onto Sports Science, Sports Psychology, Sports Coaching courses at Universities such as Brunel, Roehampton, Bournemouth and Portsmouth. The remaining 25% of students have progressed to jobs in sports marketing, sports advertising, and varied instructor roles.
