A man in his 60's has fallen through the top floor of a house as he was carrying out building work.

In Hamilton Avenue, Sutton, the man was working upstairs on his daughter's new house build when he fell at around 10am today.

After stepping on an gap in the in the floor, the man fell to the ground, breaking two bones in his back.

A spokesman for London Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a fall from height. Staff treated one patient at the scene who was conscious and breathing but was taken to St Georges Hospital for treatment."
