A teenage girl has been charged with murdering a 16-year-old girl in Battersea with an afro comb.
Julie Sheriff was attacked in Falcon Road, Battersea, in early May after she travelled from her home in Hackney to visit friends.
She was taken to St George's Hospital but remained in a coma in the hospital for five months before dying on September 21.
Following her death the girl, who had already been charged with grevious bodily harm, was charged murder.
The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Balham Youth Court this morning, Tuesday, October 18.
She was denied bail and remains on remand in secure accomodation.
The girl will next appear at the Old Bailey on November 1.
