Sutton Foodbank desperately needs help to find storage space.

The Foodbank is a group of volunteers who work to serve the community and fight poverty, however, from the end of December they will lose their existing premises where they store food.

This is compounded by the fact that the last few months have seen an increase in demand including those who are homeless.

Project manager, Mark Tomlinson, 52, said: “We haven't got the funds to rent premises; I don't know what we're going to do unless someone can give us some space.

“We are urgently appealing to anyone in the local area who could provide us with 25 x 15ft or more of space to house our food supplies.

"With a growing need we desperately don't want to have to reduce our services, but without help this could happen.

“There are definitely families out there which are struggling in the current situation and storage premises are critical to the running of the Foodbank.”

The Foodbank has been operating since December 2009 and has provided emergency food to around 800 clients in need in the borough.
