Olympic legend Sebastien Coe joined schoolchildren for a game of basketball and some boxing practice at the launch of a multi-million pound leisure centre.
Pupils from Clapham Manor Primary met Lord Coe at the Clapham Leisure Centre on Tuesday (December 6).
The leisure centre, based on Clapham Manor Street, includes a multi-use four court sports hall, 100 station fitness gym, a six lane swimming pool and various dance studios.
The development, due to open early next year, forms part of Lambeth Council’s Clapham One scheme, which will eventually see the addition of a new library, healthcare centre and almost 200 homes in the town centre.
Councillor Florence Nosegbe, Lambeth's Cabinet Member for Culture said: “There is real excitement already in Lambeth about next year’s Games and this is only going to increase as the clock ticks towards the day they begin."
