Police hunting a man they believe tried to abduct a young woman have released a photofit picture of the suspect.

The man, driving a new-looking black Range Rover Sport car with a cream interior, pulled over in Orchard Road, Kingston, at about 4am on Sunday, August 21.

He asked the 23 year old for directions, and then insisted on giving her a lift home.

When she politely declined, he got out of the car and tried to lift her off the ground and place her on the back seat against her will.

The woman manager to kick herself free and was able to get away safely.

The suspect drove off towards Wheatfield Way, turned right at the no entry sign, and travelled through the one-way system before heading over Kingston Bridge towards Hampton or Teddington.

The man introduced himself as Sonny, and appeared well spoken and educated.

He is described as an Asian-looking man, approximately 24 to 28 years old, of medium build and with hazel/brown eyes.

He was wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt and dark coloured jeans.
