Explore the history of Esher Commons at a Royston Pike lecture run by Elmbridge’s countryside estates officer.

Dave Page will draw from 20 years’ experience working on the commons to present a talk covering aspects of the natural and social history of the commons.

He will delve into the countryside around Esher and how much it has changed over time.

The 8pm talk will take place at Mole Hall, Bishop Fox Way, Molesey, on Friday, February 3.

Councillor Jan Fuller said: “Esher Commons are extremely valuable for their landscapes, rare wildlife habitats and for simply getting away from urban life.

“Dave presents us with the opportunity to learn more about the history of the commons as well as give us an update of what is currently being done to help maintain the nationally important, grass, heath and wetland habitats still found on the commons.”

Tickets cost £1.90 and are available on the door.
